Special Education (SPED)
The Special Education Program at ISU prepares candidates to teach students with disabilities of all ages and disability categories in kindergarten through grade 12. The program places special emphasis on multiple field experiences that allow candidates to apply what they have learned in local special education classrooms. Candidates complete 450 hours of field experience under the supervision of experienced special education teachers. They conclude the degree program by perfecting their practice in a full semester of student teaching.
