TEACH Grant

The TEACH Grant is a federal grant and may be available through other universities. The following is a summary of the TEACH Grant that is available through Idaho State University.

Award Information:

You will receive approximately $4000.00 per year. (Undergraduate students can receive a maximum of $16,000). Graduate students can receive a maximum of $8,000.You must teach four years in a school serving low-income students AND in a high-need field (within 8 years of graduation).

This is a list of some of the scholarships available to students in the College of Education. A brief description of the requirements for each scholarship has been included. ASISU  Scholarship - Available to all ISU students.

The Babe Caccia Scholarship - Available to an Idaho resident enrolled in the Teacher Education Program.

The Jerry J and Elner C Bellon Scholarship - Available to an Idaho resident accepted into the Teacher Education Program.

The Dr. John B. Gormon Memorial Scholarship - Available to students enrolled in the Physical Education Department.

The Paula Rankin Memorial Scholarship - Available to students who are single parents during Student Teaching.

The Marian A Toombs Scholarship - Available to students who are single parents during Student Teaching.

The Ruth Robinson Chandler Scholarship - Available to sophomore’s in Teacher Education.

The Dr. T.C. and Cheryl E. Mattocks Scholarship -Available to juniors or seniors in Early Childhood education with a GPA of 3.4 or higher.

The Dianne W. Holmes Endowment - Available to a student majoring in education who can show financial needs.

The Joe and Pauline Kent Scholarship - Available to an undergraduate student.

The Peter C. Kole Richard L. Bowen Scholarship - Available to a junior or senior who is a child of a single parent. Awards may be given to a single parent non traditional student.

The Peter C. Kole Donald J. Sampson Scholarship - Available to a student who is a junior or senior and is a child of a single parent. Awards may be given to a single parent non traditional student.

The Barbara and Roger Michener Scholarship - Available to a student in the Teacher Education Program who is doing Student Teaching.

The Donald L. and Helen Doering Nielson Endowment Fellowship - Available to Native Americans who are juniors, seniors, or graduate students.

The Jeannette Rowe Memorial Scholarship - Available to students who are juniors, seniors majoring in Dietetics or Family and Consumer Sciences Programs, current or alumni member of Phy Upsilon Omicron (Phi U)

The Robert “Dutch” W. Sherman Memorial Scholarship - Available to students in the Teacher Education program in the College of Education.

The Gates Minority and International Future Educators Scholarship - Available to students who are underrepresented in the American teaching profession such as African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans and International Students with various ethnic origins.

The V.L. and June M. Wilson Scholarship -Available to juniors and seniors with preference given to students from Magic Valley area.

Sobell-Albion Scholarship - Available to full time undergraduate students who are accepted into the Teacher Education Program within the Department of Home Economics and Vocational Teacher Education, Department of Counselor Education and Special Education, Department of Education, or the Department of Physical Education and Health Education.

The Ted Earl Memorial Scholarship - Available to students in the Teacher Education Program with preference given to juniors or seniors.

The Daugherty Foundation - Available to juniors, seniors, or graduate level students who are pursuing a degree in Elementary or Secondary Education, must have a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Idaho State University Distinguished Teacher Scholarship - Available to students who are full time students in the College of Education.

The College of Education Intern Scholarship - Available to students during the semester that they are student teaching with preferences given to candidates from minority groups.

The Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Scholarship - Available to Native Americans that are enrolled as members of the Shoshone-Bannock tribes. Must be full-time, undergraduate students accepted into the College of Education.

The FMC Corporation Scholarship in math and Science Education - Available to juniors majoring in Education and have a direct potential in math and/or science.

The Idaho Falls Retired Teachers Association Scholarship - Available to students who are juniors or seniors and must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. They must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Idaho.
