Welcome to the Office of Field Experience. We hope that our webpage provides helpful information for you, whether you are beginning to consider teaching as a career choice, or if you are already enrolled in the teacher education program. Student teaching is completed during your last semester prior to graduation.
The Office of Field Experience administers the student-teaching internship component of clinical experiences in the placement of students, selection of cooperating teachers, and assignment of university supervisors.

Our Mission
The mission of the Office of Field Experience is to support student interns before and during their student internship experiences by providing the necessary information and guidance.
The Office of Field Experience places student interns in Regions IV, V and VI. Interns are placed with cooperating teachers who have at least three years of successful teaching experience. This placement is done with the recommendation of appropriate administrative personnel in the schools and approval of the University. In identifying student teaching sites for candidates, the College of Education also gives consideration to requested geographic placements. Student interns who wish to be placed out of the area need to make an appointment with the Coordinator.
The Coordinator for the OFE will assist you in planning your student internship experience. There are many requirements that need to be completed before you can student teach. The OFE provides information and assistance with all the necessary requirements and due dates.
We are located in the College of Education and we are looking forward to helping you attain your goal of becoming an outstanding educator.
You can find the Student Teaching Internship Handbook here or copies are available in the Office of Field Experience:
If you have any questions you can call, make an appointment, send an email or just drop in.
