Regional Special Education
The Regional Consultants work to assist each district to provide high quality programs for students with disabilities. This is done by providing pertinent information to Superintendents, Special Education Directors, and district personnel. A variety of methods are used in delivering this information. The consultants provide telephone technical assistance, on-site technical assistance, mailings, in-service trainings and participation in meetings and conferences. They also participate in statewide planning and coordinate with the Bureau of Special Population Services, State Department of Education (SDE) to ensure that all information shared throughout the state is consistent and thorough.

The Idaho Training Clearing House (ITC), a website listing all special education related trainings across the state, was created as part of the Idaho Department of Education's State Improvement Grant to link special educators and parents of students with disabilities with training opportunities across multiple agencies and parent groups.
The ITC has three primary goals: (1) to inform stakeholders of training opportunities and expedite electronic registration; (2) to gather evaluative feedback on the usefulness and impact of trainings to inform future planning for in-service delivery in the state; and (3) to support distance education by creating online tools to foster learning communities of trainers and participants across the state. ITC also provides on-line training and information through websites and forums.
