Dr. Gerald (Gary) Nunn, Ph.D., NCSP is Professor and Program Director of the School Psychology Program at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. He received his Ph.D. from Kansas State University in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development, Learning and Behavior, and Counseling. His career has spanned over twenty years, and during this time he has been been employed and has developed many programs in areas of Counseling, Mental Health, Interventions in Schools, Rehabilitation, to mention a few.

For the last 10 years, he was the primary architect in development of the Results-Based Model (RBM), a Response to Intervention approach, in Idaho that has received national recognition. Prior to his work in Idaho, Dr. Nunn was also involved for 10 years in the implementation of the Renewed Service Delivery System in Iowa, which was one of the first states to establish a Problem-Solving Intervention-RTI approach in the nation.

In 2000, he received from Project Innovation, a Special Merit Award for his published research titled "IDEAL Problem Solving Using a Collaborative Effort for Special Needs and At-Risk Students published by the Journal of Education. In 2005 he received the Distinguished Service Award by the Idaho School Psychologists Association for his ongoing leadership in the Results-Based Model, Response to Intervention, Problem-Solving Interventions, and support for School Psychologists in the state. His published research and presentations include over 100 articles and other manuscripts and over 400 presentations to local, state and national organizations.

His development of the POSSE RTI-PSI Database Software is focused upon constructing a dedicated database model for the implementation and evaluation of RTI-PSI in schools in order to meet the needs of practitioners who want to build better and more effective interventions to help students achieve success!
