Required Initial Teacher Licensure Assessments
Consistent with the rules of the Idaho State Board of Education, all graduates from the Idaho State University College of Education recommended for initial Idaho certification must: (1) obtain a passing score on the Idaho Technology Portfolio Assessment and (2) obtain the required passing score on the Praxis II Content Test(s) in each subject area for which they are being recommended for certification.
Effective July 2007
(see STATE BOARD APPROVED TEMPORARY RULES),
the Technology Competency Assessment is no longer a certification requirement.
Additionally, consistent with the rules of the Idaho State Board of Education, all elementary education, early childhood education, and special education graduates from the Idaho State University College of Education recommended for initial Idaho certification must obtain passing scores on all three sections of the Idaho Comprehensive Literacy Assessment (I. Structure of Language, II. Comprehension, and III, Assessment).
The Idaho State University College of Education also requires presentation of minimum scores achieved on the Praxis I Academic Skills Assessments in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics for all candidates seeking admission to the Teacher Education Program.
